No Place for Hate

This club supports the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) by creating and completing projects throughout each school year to encourage students and staff to treat each other with respect, to appreciate different cultures and backgrounds, and to keep our title as a No Place For Hate school. This club meets on Wednesdays and once a month after school. A year-long commitment is crucial to us completing our projects.

Odyssey of the Mind

Odyssey of the Mind is a creative problem-solving competition where teams of 7 students collaborate over the year to develop and perform a completely original 8 minute skit in response to one of five problem categories—vehicle, structure, technical, classics and humor. Teams also practice weekly to develop their spontaneous problem-solving skills to meet an unpredictable on-the-fly-challenge. Students will meet during activity periods and after school with Ms. Mindel and on the weekends with volunteer parent coaches. Students present their problem-solutions and spontaneous skills at the regional competition in late February or early March and may also compete at the state and national levels. Odyssey is a serious commitment of time and effort—a sport for creative minds!

Orchestra

Orchestra is open for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who play the violin, viola, cello, or bass. During this time we rehearse new music and prepare for our concerts all while making new friends and having a blast! Want to join this group? Always wanted to play an instrument but, didn't sign up? Just see Mrs. O'Connor and she can get you started! #TEAMSTRINGS
