Conshohocken Elementary School students cruise into summer on new wheels

Conshohocken Elementary School students Sa’liyah Smith and Arya Beranza will start off the summer with a new pair of wheels, thanks to the generosity of the Conshohocken Borough Police Department and local business owner Chuck Hemcher.

Sa’liyah, a first-grader, and Arya, a third-grader, were selected by their teachers to receive the bikes because they have consistently demonstrated respect, responsibility, kindness, and other positive qualities that are part of the school’s Coyote Characteristics.

Conshohocken Police representatives delivered the bikes to the school on June 13 and congratulated the students in front of the whole school. The bike giveaway is an annual tradition that is part of a partnership between the school and police department, which teaches students about bike safety every year. Bikes are donated to the police by Chuck Hemcher, owner of the Great American Pub.

The bike giveaway was followed by the annual kickball game. It was the third-graders versus the teachers - always a fun way to kick off the summer! We wish all of our families a wonderful and safe time away from school, and look forward to welcoming you back on Aug. 25, 2025.
