Why Should You Own a Cat?
Benefits of having a cat include decreased loneliness and better sleep. Having a cat can improve both your mental and physical health as well. Cats are also very low-maintenance pets because they clean themselves, do not require walks, and can be litter-trained very easily.
Are Cats Better Than Dogs?
Although only 37% of people own cats rather than dogs, many people believe dogs are more affectionate. However, this can be a misunderstanding. Cats are more like humans in the sense that you have to earn their trust. If you take the time to love and care for them, they can become extremely affectionate and loyal companions.
Why Do Cats Hate Water?
Cats dislike water because it soaks into their fur, making it harder for them to dry off. Wet fur can also make them feel heavy and uncomfortable. In some cases, being wet for too long can lower their body temperature and potentially lead to hypothermia. Another reason may come from their ancestors, which lived in desert environments where large bodies of water were uncommon.
How Do You Care for a Cat?
To care for a cat, you should keep it indoors and provide a healthy amount of food each day. Always make sure your cat has access to fresh water. Many cats prefer moving water, so a pet fountain can be a good idea. You should also provide a scratching post because scratching is a natural behavior for cats. Without one, they may scratch furniture or other household items.
