Happy New Year, CMS!

The first Question of the Month in 2024 is relating to Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ rough December and an embarrassing showing versus the New York Giants. How do they rebound entering the playoffs?

First of all, they look like garbage entering the playoffs. The birds were embarrassed by New York by the score of 27-10. This is also not mentioning that they have lost the last two games of the regular season, as well as losing five of their last six games, securing the reigning NFC champions with an unimpressive (for Super Bowl standards) 11-6 record. Also, in their last three games against the Giants, Cardinals, and Giants again, which were considered “easy wins”, they went 1-2, and the one win was in week 16 against the Giants, where they barely won on an intercepted hail mary from the Giants.

With all this, the Eagles ended up as the five seed in the playoffs, blowing the division against the Dallas Cowboys. Their wild card round foes are the four-seeded, NFC South-winning Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs have been good lately, and could pose a real challenge against Tampa Bay.

How far will they go in the playoffs, though? Well, as I alluded to earlier, the Eagles aren’t doing good right now. It will be interesting to see if they can even make it out of Super Wild Card Weekend, and a trip past the divisional round to the NFC Championship seems unprecedented with the current form of the team.

Injuries are also plaguing the team entering the playoffs. Cam Jurgensen, Sydney Brown, D’andre Swift, Darius Slay, A.J. Brown, and Jalen Hurts are among the names that were injured in the game or were already injured leading up to the game.

So, all in all, these have been a rough past few weeks leading up to the playoffs. How will they do against the Buccaneers and will they go far in the postseason? What are your thoughts?
