What I am here to explain to you today, is what I like to call earlobe phobia , or better, lobulusphobia. Now, earlobe phobia isn’t scientifically proven to be a real phobia, but some people have been getting strickenly uneasy with, and in some cases afraid of, ears, specifically earlobes. Earlobe phobia isn’t named to be a real phobia, for it isn’t as common as let’s say, cynophobia, the fear of dogs.
But there have been some reports about certain victims of this apprehension, where certain people fear, panic, and even jeopardize themselves and others due to this “horror”. But those of you who know, that this is normal for any phobia (well, depending on how severe that person has it), so that proves that this should be a real phobia! Like I said before, it hasn't been proven to be a real thing, but if someone has this fear, does that mean that it’s a real thing even though they said it isn’t? That’s what I’m here to discuss with you here today.
Can something that was formally proven to be not a real thing become a real thing? I honestly have no idea. But if you’re curious, some symptoms might include: Anxiety, nervousness, or panic attacks when thinking about or seeing earlobes, Avoiding situations where their earlobes might be visible or examined, immediately noticing a person's earlobes after just seeing them, and even in very certain situations, one might take something like 20+ minutes putting on earrings due to a fear of what might just be touching their earlobes!
We might be able to prove if it’s real or not, but we may never know. For now, not enough people in the world have a phobia of earlobes to prove scientifically that it is a real thing. But truly, who knows? What’s your biggest fear?
