Gim Theory: Recess Rivalry Review

Now, we know Fishtopia was the kick-off of the 2D game modes in Gimkit. But when people were finished marveling over its accomplishments, they started to point out the flaws. Here’s a list:

  • Its too slow
  • It's too repetitive
  • Not intense enough

But that’s exactly where Tag: Domination comes in, and it fixes all of Fishtopia’s problems while adding in some fun gimmicks.

The Rise of the Rivalry: Tag Domination

Tag Domination was the best gamemode there was for a while, and it has its reasons. The idea of the game is that there are 2 teams alternating turns in 45 second chunks where you either try to tag someone or try to not get tagged. The fun part is that you can use that energy you get from answering questions so you can buy areas and upgrades. It was really cool and the other good thing was that you could get like 500 Gimbucks just by playing it and getting all the upgrades. (Well, until they nerfed the way you get Gimbucks). Well, it was an innovative take on the popular recess game of tag, but Gimkit wasn’t done there. No they were not. They decided to make another game representing the rivalry between Echo and Vortex. They Capture the Flag.

The Sequel: Capture The Flag

Capture the Flag was, in my opinion, just the best team game Gimkit ever made. It was a work of art combining strategy, fun and chaos all into one. It kept you in the game with its fast paced gameplay and many areas to explore. It is the most underrated mode in Gimkit (Hot Take) hands down. I mean who doesn’t like to capture the flag, an OG game you played when you were an itty-bitty 4th grader and under. Add some upgrades, walls, secret tunnels and more… you got an ungodly awesome game mode. Well since I tried out the rating system I used in Fishtopia Review, and it sucked. I’m just going to give it a grade

The Final Grade

Grade: A

There are some things I don’t like about the collection like Tag Domination’s energy cap so that is a really big detriment. But, everything else is A+ Tier so… yeah? Well thanks for reading this article of Gim Theory. (Expect a lore article in 2-3 weeks). And remember, it’s not just a theory, it’s a GIM THEORY. Thanks for reading.
