New Article Series: Exploring the Theories of Five Nights at Freddy’s!

Hey everyone, it’s Jackson! I’m excited to announce a brand-new article series all about Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF). Alongside fellow editors Alex Ammons and Dexter Milleti, I’ll be diving into the wildest theories, hidden lore, and eerie mysteries of this iconic game and book series. I plan to continue this series even into next year when I’m in seventh grade—so stay tuned!
For those unfamiliar with FNAF, the series follows animatronic animals designed to entertain children—except, at night, they turn into terrifying killing machines. Players take on the role of Mike Schmidt, a night security guard who quickly discovers the dark truth behind Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. But why do these robots attack? That all traces back to one man: William Afton.
Afton was the mastermind behind Fredbear’s Family Diner, but when his rival, Henry Emily, opened Chica’s Party World, Afton’s business began to decline. Henry eventually saved Afton from bankruptcy, merging their brands to create Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a huge success. But Afton’s ambitions didn’t stop there—he became obsessed with animatronics, learning the secrets of their technology and, eventually, the horrifying key to immortality.
Using the Glitchtrap suit, Afton lured children into the back rooms of the pizzeria, where he murdered them and hid their bodies inside the animatronics. Their trapped souls, seeking revenge, attacked anyone who entered the Pizzaplex at night—hoping to finally destroy Afton. But Afton was always one step ahead…
The Bite of ’87: Who Was Responsible?
One of the most infamous mysteries in FNAF history is The Bite of ’87, where an animatronic attacked a victim, causing them to lose their frontal lobe—but miraculously, they survived. The question remains: which animatronic was responsible? Here are the top theories:
🔹 Mangle – Some believe Mangle is the culprit due to her aggressive, upside-down jumpscare and tendency to target the forehead.
🔹 Toy Chica – In Ultimate Custom Night, Toy Chica taunts, “Where’s my beak? Lodged in your forehead, of course.” Suspicious, right?
🔹 Withered Foxy – A theory suggests that after The Bite, Fazbear Entertainment required employees to carry flashlights—coincidentally, Foxy’s greatest weakness.
And who was the victim? Many believe it was Jeremy Fitzgerald, the night guard from FNAF 2, who was mysteriously moved to the day shift right before the attack.
Sadly, I can’t cover all the FNAF lore in one article—but don’t worry, we’ll continue unraveling these mysteries next time!
See You on Night 2! (If Foxy Doesn’t Get You First 👀)
