Andrew Mukuba and Jihaad Campbell are the Philadelphia Eagles rookies this year getting the most playing time. Both of them played well, but which one would win the Eagles Rookie of the Year (ROTY) award?
Both of them can be in the conversation for the ROTY — it’s just who had the better season, and what they needed to do to beat out other rookies for the award.
Going by the season these rookies had, I would make an argument that even though he was injured, it would be Andrew Mukuba since he had a slightly better season than Campbell.
Through 8 weeks Mukuba was having a better season with 37 tackles, 2 interceptions, 3 pass breakups, 2 TFLs, and 0.5 sacks. On the other hand Campbell had 22 tackles, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, 2 PBUs.
However, with Mukuba injured, this was all subject to change because Campbell increased his season stats by making a run at him with Mukuba not getting playing time for the whole season.
He also saw significant time in Mukuba's spot.
Overall, I think Andrew Mukuba was the ROTY because he was on pace to have the better season. However, I am excited for both of them to get better and hopefully become lock-down players at their positions.
