Some may mistake the way of life,

Saying, “Life is what you make it.”

But it isn’t, as my strife,

It hasn’t been as I want it.

Things change, faster than lightning.

In an instant the world can shatter.

In a world where one only wants to be winning,

It seems no one cares for things that matter.

Your values in this world,

Are they really important?

We spend too many words

On things that are less important than the ants.

The ants, who work so hard every day,

Trying to stay alive.

We should be inspired by their fray,

Or the bees that work for their hive.

Nature has so many solutions,

None we wish to take.

Instead we destroy their institutions,

Columns built that man didn’t make.

The future is not a roll of the dice,

Rather the result of what we do.

What we do is colder than ice.

Who will stop it? Will it be you?
