Welcome to CMS Mrs. Spivey!

Mrs. Spivey has been in education jobs for quite some time. Her prior jobs in
Philadelphia school district were, teaching first grade, she taught 5th grade math, middle school digital citizenship, instructional coach, and she was even a director of literacy.

Not only did she work in the Philadelphia school district, but she also worked in William Penn as an assistant principal.

Since those are closer to the city, this is a more suburban setting for her. Some things that are unique to those prior schools are, larger grounds, more open space, and a larger demographic of students. Mrs. Spivey also noted the amazing arts programs here at CMS.

The new 6th grade assistant principal has some goals for her time here at CMS, “I really want to focus on equity, inclusion, and belonging. For me its about making sure that the teachers and students feel supported when they come to me with concerns.”

When Mrs. Spivey is out of school she likes to travel, read, and binge watch shows. She also enjoys hanging out with family and friends. One of her favorite places she has visited so far is Sonoma,California.

Mrs. Spivey also has some advice to share with students, “Make good choices and good things will happen. Be your authentic self!”

She added that she feels “really blessed to be working with a great group of students and staff!”

And we're excited to work with her, too! We should welcome our new assistant principal to our CMS family!
